Why Grief Still Feels Taboo

Why Grief Still Feels Taboo

We live in a culture that celebrates resilience—but only when it’s quick, polished, and inspiring.

Grief doesn’t behave that way.

Grief is inconvenient.
It’s unpredictable.
It doesn’t ask permission before it shows up in the middle of your day, your work, your relationships.

So what do people do?

They avoid it.
They minimize it.
They rush you through it.

You’ve probably heard it:

  • “Everything happens for a reason.”
  • “They’re in a better place.”
  • “At least you…”

Well-meaning? Maybe.
But often dismissive.

Because the truth is—most people haven’t been taught how to sit with grief, so they try to fix what was never meant to be fixed.

If you want to move through your grief and get to the other side, I can redirect your life to accommodate joy and acceptance. DM for a consultation.

All my love,

Sandra
