The Hidden Obstacle To Hearing God

The Hidden Obstacle To Hearing God

📌 If you're pursuing a deeper relationship with God, this is for you!

To hear God more clearly, you may need to retrain your mind before you expect a different experience.

God hasn't stopped speaking.

The question is whether we've trained our attention to recognize His voice.

Neuroplasticity teaches us that the brain becomes stronger in the pathways we use most often.

In other words, what you repeatedly give your attention to begins to shape how you think, what you notice, and where your mind naturally returns.

Spiritually, the same principle applies.

If your attention is constantly consumed by noise, distraction, busyness, fear, social media, or even other people's opinions about God, don't be surprised if recognizing His voice becomes more difficult.

Not because God has become distant.

But because your attention has been trained somewhere else.

I believe many people genuinely desire to hear God.

But hearing Him isn't simply about asking Him to speak.

It's about cultivating a life that makes room for His voice.

That means spending time in His Word.

Learning His character.

Praying.

Being still.

Not because you're trying to earn His love or prove your worthiness.

But because that's how every healthy relationship grows.

And here's another truth.

There is nothing wrong with learning from pastors, teachers, books, or podcasts. God often uses people to encourage, teach, and equip us.

But if we're always relying on someone else's revelation without pursuing our own fellowship with Him, we can unintentionally replace intimacy with dependency.

Your relationship with God was never meant to be sustained by borrowed revelation.

As you consistently renew your mind with His truth, you're not only growing spiritually—you are training your mind to return to Him instead of returning to fear, distraction, or the world's noise.

⏩️ If you're ready to renew your mind, deepen your relationship with God, and break the patterns that keep you stuck, follow along—or reach out to learn how we can work together.

Until next time…keep your journey real,

Sandra
