When we let limiting beliefs take the reins, they can exacerbate holiday stress. These beliefs can magnify our concerns, making the pressure of the season feel overwhelming. However, it's essential to remember that they are just thoughts, not facts.
3 Tips on Overcoming Limiting Beliefs:
- 1. Identify Your Limiting Beliefs: Take some time to reflect on your thoughts and fears related to the holiday season. What do you tell yourself that holds you back or causes stress?
- 2. Challenge Them: Ask yourself if your beliefs are based on facts or assumptions. Challenge them by applying eutaptics® tapping. You can start by asking, “How do I know you have this problem?” write down at least one memory that references the limiting beliefs.
- (For example, if you believe you're not a good host, tap on the evidence you believe to have of this and then change it to positive. Reminding yourself of past successful gatherings)
- 3. Replace: reframe limiting beliefs with positive affirmations. Instead of thinking, "I can't handle holiday stress," tell yourself, "I can manage holiday preparations one step at a time." or “I can manage my negative triggers around family”
