It hurts when someone we trust breaches something we’ve said in confidence. And, sometimes in moments of hurt, we share with people personal things that maybe later we regret saying.
I think that apologizing for putting the other person in an awkward position is necessary not only for you, but for the friendship. And this goes for the other person as well.
In the end, they forgive or they don’t. You can only do your best. But it is important to remember that you’re not responsible for other people’s triggers or unresolved problems.
